For this awesome recipe, you will need : 

❧ 6 cups (1.5 liters) finely chopped cabbage
❧ 1⁄4 cup (60 ml) finely chopped onion
❧ 3 tbsp (45 ml) relish (homemade if you have it)
❧ 3⁄4 cup (180 ml) mayonnaise
❧ 2 tbsp (30 ml) apple cider vinegar, 2 tbsp (30 mL) sugar
❧ 4 tbsp (60 ml) Colonel’s mustard
❧ 6 butcher’s hot dogs (or Italian)
❧ 2 fresh baguettes cut into 6 pieces
❧ 12 slices Swiss or sharp cheddar cheese

Méthode

Method

For the coleslaw : 

Place all the ingredients except for the cabbage in a large bowl and mix them together. Add the cabbage
and toss the bowl vigorously to ensure the cabbage is fully coated in dressing. You can set it aside for now.

For the hot dog : 

Preheat the your BBQ to high. Heat sausages until they’re fully cooked throughout (careful not to burn them). Cut the baguettes in half lengthwise and set aside. Put cheese slices inside the baguettes and place the sausages on top. Add the coleslaw and enjoy!

If you like it the way we do, you can add some more Colonel sauce on top !
