Montreal, May 6, 2025 – La Pimenterie, artisan of bold hot sauces, is partnering with François Chartier, world expert in aromatic science and creator of harmonies, to launch ANTIPODE , a duo of unique hot sauces that push the boundaries of gastronomy and explore molecular cuisine .

Fire, cold and gastronomic innovation

ANTIPODE combines two opposing taste experiences:

  • Antipode Electric : A red sauce with Fresno, Serrano, Cherry Bomb, and Habanero peppers, delivering an electrifying tingle followed by a slight numbness.

  • Antipode Glacial : a green sauce with Aji Lemon chili, with a unique cold sensation, enhanced by anise, tarragon, fennel, mint and green apple.

These two creations transform spiciness into an innovative gastronomic experience, inspired by the principles of François Chartier's molecular cuisine .

A molecular design and an interactive concept

The bottle design, by Pulp & Pixel, illustrates the antagonism between fire and cold. Consumers can mix the two sauces to create a new aromatic balance, embodying the idea: 1 + 1 = 3 .

“Antipode isn’t just a sauce. It’s an alchemy of flavors that transforms spiciness into a gastronomic experience,” explains François Chartier.

A collaboration between Montreal and Barcelona

The creation of ANTIPODE was documented in a short film showing the behind-the-scenes of La Pimenterie and the world of François Chartier, presented to Michelin-starred chefs in Barcelona.

Availability and official launch

The official launch will be held at the Montréal Plaza restaurant , hosted by chef Charles-Antoine Crête.

  • Quebec : from May 6, 2025, limited edition, $14/bottle

  • Europe : launch planned for September 2025
